Meet The Queen Bee: A Texas Master Beekeeper with a Passion for Honey, Agriculture, and Education

Everything is bigger in Texas—including my love for honey bees.

My name is Bridget,  and I am proud to call myself a Texas Master Beekeeper, a lifelong Texan, and a graduate of Texas A&M University. Born and raised in the Lone Star State, I've always had a deep appreciation for the land, agriculture, and the hardworking people who help feed our communities. That appreciation eventually led me to one of nature's most incredible creatures: the honey bee.

Becoming a Texas Master Beekeeper was more than earning a title—it was a commitment to education, stewardship, and preserving one of the world's most important pollinators. The Texas Master Beekeeper Program, administered through Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, is a rigorous educational program that develops knowledgeable beekeepers who serve as ambassadors for honey bees and the beekeeping industry throughout Texas.

As both a beekeeper and educator, I enjoy helping others understand that bees are about much more than honey. Honey bees play a vital role in agriculture by pollinating many of the fruits, vegetables, nuts, and flowering plants that support our food supply and ecosystems. Healthy pollinator populations are essential to the future of farming and food production.

My journey into beekeeping has been filled with countless lessons—from learning the fascinating social structure of a hive to understanding the importance of sustainable hive management and honey bee health. Every hive teaches something new, and every season reminds me that patience, observation, and respect for nature are some of life's greatest teachers.

As the founder of HNYLDY, (pronounced Honey Lady),  a female-owned honey company, I'm passionate about introducing people to honey in exciting new ways. It's proof that one of nature's oldest superfoods still has a place in today's active lifestyles.
